I have been a professional CG artist since 1998 specializing in scientific visualization but I also work in the entertainment and commercial industries. I am an instructor at the Gnomon School of Visual Effects in Hollywood CA, no doubt you have seen my student's artwork featured prominently here on Artstation. I have written numerous books on Maya and ZBrush (Mastering Maya 2009, Mastering Maya 2011, 3 Editions of Introducing ZBrush, and two editions of Maya Visual Effects: The Innovator's Guide). I have recorded video lectures for Lynda.com, Pixologic's ZClassroom, The Gnomon Workshop, and Clarafi.com. I have lectured at ZBrush User Group meetings, I have given presentations at the ZBrush booth at SIGGRAPH, and I have been a guest lecturer at Harvard Medical School. I am passionate about Cg and using CG to further scientific research and science education. My latest personal project is Entomology Animated which is a free online animated lecture series focusing on the biology of insects targeted towards a general audience. I currently, and proudly, work for Digizyme Inc. We create animations and visualization for science. My proudest achievement is the many animations I created for E O Wilson's "Life on Earth" iBook. Ed Wilson is responsible for my entomological obsession. I'm excited to be on Artstation and hep to share more of my work.
